We are very proud to have Billy Smith as our Club Captain for the 2011 season.
Billy has worked in the Rail Industry for over twenty years and has spent the past
five with Jacobs Rail Division in Construction Management UK Wide. His hobbies include
croquet, golf and a spot of gardening.
He has lived in Dundonald since 1995 with his wife Denise and two children, Samantha
and Marc.
Billy played a key role in the development of Dundonald Croquet Club by co-ordinating
the Lawn Drainage Project in January 2009, which involved the installation of a series
of filter drains that now permits play during wet weather. In order to preserve the
existing lawn over 100 tonnes of wet clay was removed from the lawn by wheel barrow
and a further 80 tonnes of washed gravel and 20 tonnes of top-soil was barrowed back
in by hand.
